| Man confesses killing 11-month-old daughter in Karachi |
KARACHI: Police say that the arrested father of an 11-month-old girl has confessed to torturing his own child to death over a minor domestic dispute with his wife.
The incident took place in Karachi’s Surjani Town area where the body of the little girl Mahnoor was found from the house. Police had taken Amir, the accused father, into custody from the house on Saturday night.
Hours after his arrest, police said the father confessed that he beat the infant to death in a fit of rage.
According to police, Amir got into an argument with his wife when he entered the bathroom but could not find a bar of soap. Enraged, Amir started beating and torturing his wife and 11-month-old daughter, who succumbed to the injuries.
Sources said the initial post-mortem report revealed torture marks on the infant's body, but police said a case against the accused will be registered after a detailed final autopsy report is released.
